Aerobics Shoes - Choosing The Right Type Is Vital For Your Feet!

“I want a pair of aerobic shoes” I asked the salesman at the footwear store. “What kind of aerobic shoes?” he enquired. I was flummoxed. I did not know that there were different types of aerobic shoes. Sensing my ignorance, the salesman proceeded to explain about the varieties of aerobic shoes. There are special shoes made for playing tennis. Known as cross trainers or tennis shoes, these shoes are provided with a lot of padding, but a low top to allow some flexibility and movement at the ankle. Basketball players wear sturdier shoes called high tops to protect their ankles. Since basketball involves a lot of jumping and sudden sprints, there is immense pressure on the ankles.

A cross country runner wears shoes which have plenty of traction on the bottom. These shoes are a combination between tennis shoes and light hiking boots. Then there is the running shoe which weighs the lightest of all aerobic shoes. It has padding to cushion the running. However this shoe is unsuitable for tennis players. The salesman could have gone on telling about the aerobic shoes. But I had made up my mind. I wanted a pair of running shoes.
