im kinda having a teenage crisis because im going to have to wear head gear at night, and i want to know if it actually speeds up the straightening process (of ur teeth, of course)

Yeah, it doesn’t make anyone feel any too sexy with head gear, but it does work. They are using an external force to get the tooth to move. This is generally done when the 6 year molars are not in the correct position. This can be caused by a skeletal malposition or as a result of losing the primary teeth too early. Just do it. The final result is much improved and quicker to achieve if the head gear is used as directed.
