Can jump rope skipping be used as a good replacement for jogging?

I heard that 5 minutes of jump rope skipping has the same health benefits of a 20 minute jog, is this true or just something for us wishful thinkers?

I don’t think it has the 20-minute equivalent, but anyone who’s ever used a jump-rope will tell you that it’s killer cardio. A lot of football players and boxers jump-rope religiously. I definitely recommend it.
