What can I use to paint white clogging shoes BLACK?

I need to paint a pair of white clogging shoes BLACK for my daughter. The dance instructor said to use black shoe polish, but that is not working. I am wondering if there is a fabric paint that I can brush on to paint the shoes. They are made of leather. Anyone know? Thanks!

I’ve had to do that before. Spray paint works but you have to keep touching it up, because it will crack.
