What’s the Average Pulse rate for my 12y old boy?

My 12 year old son is into exercise and loves to do sports. His pulse rate varies every time I check it:

Hi i’m a student RN and my physical examination text book says:
12yr old male average pulse rate – 85bpm and the normal range is 65-105bpm.

I wouldn’t be very concerned if i was working on a ward and his pulse rate was 52 or 60…
Fit people do have slower pulse rates, and as you get older the average pulse rate decreases as the heart muscles develop along with the skeletal muscles.
I have a slow pulse rate and I consider myself to be a fit person. When I do ECG’s at uni, the result tells me i’m bradycardic which means I have a slower than average pulse rate (less than 60bpm). I’ve had my heart checked (un-related reason) and it is very healthy.

Mention it to your GP if you’re concerned but if your son isn’t showing any other deliberating clinical symptoms, why be concerned at all?
