A few days ago, I took an 8 foot fall on my knees onto soft dirt while wearing knee pads. I gave myself a nice bruise on my knee, and tonight I noticed when moving/rubbing the patella of my right knee, that it has a slight grinding/vibration sensation to it, whereas the left patella behaves completely normal.

I’m searching for a cause for this, potential causes, things to rule out. I have full range of motion, minimal swelling (due to bruise), fully weight bearing, no pain or tenderness (aside bruise). Looks normal, acts pretty normal.

I realize if the situation changes, starts hurting more, swells, etc, that I’m headed to the doctor stat for an assessment. But as a medic, with limited orthopedic skills, I’m curious about what the potential causes and problems could be.

Any thoughts or suggestions, anyone?
